Portland Trail Blazers rookie Scoot Henderson, the third overall pick in the 2023 draft, is set to miss an additional two weeks due to the bone bruise in his right ankle, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Henderson initially sprained his ankle in Portland's Nov. 1 win over the Detroit Pistons and has missed the club's three games since.

A product of the league's G League Ignite pathway, the 19-year-old put up 8.8 points, 4.6 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game through his first five NBA contests before sustaining the injury. Despite playing just 20 minutes against the Pistons, he mirrored the 11 points and seven assists registered in his previous game - an eight-point win against the Toronto Raptors in which he played over 34 minutes.

Henderson is widely expected to become the long-term successor to former franchise star Damian Lillard, who was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks this past offseason after 11 seasons in Portland.
