Philadelphia 76ers wing Kelly Oubre Jr. will be re-evaluated in approximately one week after he was struck by a car as a pedestrian and suffered a fractured rib, the team announced on Sunday.

The Philadelphia Police Department said that Oubre was struck by a vehicle in the upper-chest area and suffered injuries to his hip and right leg, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania. The car fled the scene after the accident.

Oubre, 27, was walking in Philadelphia's downtown Center City District when he was struck. The 76ers' medical staff will work with the forward on treatment for his injuries.

He was hospitalized due to the incident but was released before the end of Saturday night, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

Sixers president Daryl Morey is among multiple members of the franchise who visited Oubre at the hospital, according to Wojnarowski.

Oubre joined the 76ers this summer on a one-year deal after two seasons with the Charlotte Hornets. He's played in all eight games for Nick Nurse's side this season and started the last five after the team sent forward P.J. Tucker to the Los Angeles Clippers as part of the James Harden trade.
