Draymond suspended 5 games for putting Gobert in headlock
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green will be suspended five games for his role in a brawl during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, the NBA announced.
The suspension will cost Green $769,970, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Green put Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert in a headlock after teammate Klay Thompson got into a scuffle with Minnesota wing Jaden McDaniels within the first two minutes of the contest. Green, Thompson, and McDaniels were all ejected.
The incident happened just days after Gobert and McDaniels fell on top of Warriors star Stephen Curry on a play where he injured his knee.
Green has now been suspended five times in his career. The NBA said his suspension is "based in part on Green's history of unsportsmanlike acts."
Thompson, McDaniels, and Gobert were fined $25,000 each.
