The Los Angeles Clippers moved guard Russell Westbrook to a bench role ahead of Friday's game against the Houston Rockets.
Westbrook requested the move to help the team's starting lineup establish more continuity as the Clippers continue to integrate James Harden into the lineup, per Haynes.
The Clippers have lost six straight games and are 0-5 since Harden made his debut for the team on Nov. 6.
Westbrook is off to a solid start in his first full season with the Clippers. The 35-year-old is averaging 14 points, seven rebounds, and 5.7 assists over 30.7 minutes per game.
Westbrook has only come off the bench 66 times in 1,104 games during his 16-year NBA career.
