Nuggets' Murray returns from hamstring injury vs. Rockets

Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray returned to the lineup Wednesday against the Houston Rockets after missing 11 games due to a hamstring injury.

The Nuggets jumped to a 6-1 record to start the season with Murray in the lineup but went just 6-5 without him. Denver has outscored opponents by 7.4 points per 100 possessions with Murray and two-time MVP Nikola Jokic on the court together, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Murray struggled to shoot the ball early in the campaign, averaging 16.3 points on a 43.3% mark from the field. However, he's averaging a career-best 7.4 assists per game.

The Canadian guard averaged at least 20 points in his last healthy two seasons, sitting out the 2021-22 campaign with an ACL injury.

With Jokic also returning from a one-game absence, the Nuggets' core are short just Aaron Gordon, who missed his third straight contest with a heel injury.
