Report: 76ers monitoring LaVine, Anunoby

The Philadelphia 76ers are ready to make a splash.

Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine and Toronto Raptors forward O.G. Anunoby are two players the Sixers are interested in acquiring, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported on FanDuel's "Run It Back."

The Sixers only have three contracts on the books for next season - star center Joel Embiid, reserve big man Paul Reed, and guard Jaden Springer. The rest of the roster is comprised of expiring contracts. Some pieces that could be on the move include Nic Batum, Marcus Morris, and Robert Covington, players Philadelphia acquired in the James Harden trade in October. The franchise also has up to three first-round picks to deal away.

LaVine, 28, has missed the last 10 contests due to a foot injury. The Bulls have played better without their star in the lineup, going 7-3. He's averaging 21 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 18 games this season.

Anunoby, 26, has a player option worth $19.9 million for the 2024-25 campaign that he can decline in the summer for a bigger deal. The burly forward is averaging 14.7 points, four rebounds, 2.5 assists, and a steal in 23 games.

The Sixers are 18-8 since trading Harden, thanks largely to the dominant play of Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. They rank third in the Eastern Conference and face Anunoby's Raptors on Friday.
