Goran Dragic is calling it a career and will play a farewell game in August in his native country of Slovenia, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports Saturday.

The 37-year-old guard's celebration event will take place over two days, the Goran Dragic Foundation announced, according to Eurohoops.net.

Dragic spent his last season in the NBA split between the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks in 2022-23, averaging 6.3 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.4 rebounds in 58 games.

"The Dragon" began his professional career in Slovenia and Spain before being acquired by the Phoenix Suns in a draft night trade with the San Antonio Spurs in 2008. Dragic suited up for the Suns until 2011, when the club traded him to the Houston Rockets. He returned to Phoenix in 2012 and played in The Valley for three more seasons, winning Most Improved Player and earning an All-NBA third-team spot in 2014.

The Suns traded Dragic to the Miami Heat in 2015. The veteran played seven seasons in Miami, averaging 16.2 points and 5.2 assists. The 2018 All-Star ranks third in assists and ninth in points in Heat history.

Miami moved Dragic and center Precious Achiuwa to the Toronto Raptors in 2021 in a sign-and-trade deal involving Kyle Lowry. Over his career, Dragic averaged 13.3 points, 4.7 assists, and three rebounds.

Dragic also helped Slovenia win its first-ever FIBA EuroBasket championship in 2017, scoring 35 points in the final contest over Serbia. He was named tournament MVP.
