Haliburton strains hamstring, reportedly out at least 2 weeks

Tyrese Haliburton suffered a hamstring strain in the second quarter of the Indiana Pacers' 133-131 win over the Boston Celtics.

An MRI on Tuesday confirmed a Grade 1 strain for the Pacers guard, who will be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. However, the team is reportedly relieved he avoided a serious injury.

Haliburton had to be carried off by teammates with just over three minutes remaining in the first half on Monday after suddenly slipping on the court.

The Pacers star recorded seven points on 3-of-5 shooting before exiting, along with six assists and two rebounds in 15 minutes. His teammate Bennedict Mathurin stepped up in Haliburton's absence, scoring 26 points off the bench.

The 23-year-old Haliburton is the engine of the Pacers' offense, averaging 24.7 points and a league-leading 12.7 assists per game. Indiana is 20-15 on the season and 1-2 without him in the lineup.

Haliburton led the franchise to the inaugural In-Season Tournament championship game in December, where they lost to the Los Angeles Lakers.
