Star Anthony Edwards voiced his displeasure with the officiating following the Minnesota Timberwolves' 107-101 road win Monday over the No. 2-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.

"The refs was bad tonight. Yeah, they was terrible," Edwards told ESPN's Tim MacMahon postgame. "We was playing eight-on-five."

Edwards called the officiating crew "cheating ass refs" immediately after the contest and lamented his frustrations during an on-court interview.

Referees awarded Edwards four free throws over the contest, while the Timberwolves attempted 15 shots from the charity stripe. Led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's 16 attempts, the Thunder took 22 free throws.

"I haven't earned (referees' respect) yet, so it's OK," said Edwards. "But I think tonight was bad from the refs. It was terrible. We didn't get no calls as a team. I got fouled multiple times, and I'm walking up to the ref telling him, 'Hey, can you watch this?' They just shaking their head. Yeah. And then soon somebody come down from their team and get bumped, it's a foul."

However, Edwards separated his issues with the refs from the foul calls received by Gilgeous-Alexander.

"Him getting to the line, he do that in his sleep. Yeah, he's unstoppable," Edwards said. "Nobody can guard him. He's good. He's super good. But yeah, the refs was bad tonight."

One play Edwards appeared to take particular issue with came with 1:57 left in the game when the 22-year-old grabbed his wrist after a big-time slam, indicating to refs he was fouled.

"I just feel like it wasn't a fair game tonight from the jump," Edwards said. "And so that's why I'm super happy we won the game."

Edwards finished the contest with 27 points, shooting 10-of-20 from the field.

The victory moved the Timberwolves to 33-14 on the season and into the Western Conference's top spot.
