Brooklyn Nets point forward Ben Simmons didn't play in Wednesday's 136-120 loss against the Phoenix Suns due to a knee contusion one game after he returned from a lengthy absence.
Simmons missed 38 games due to a back injury. Monday's win over the Utah Jazz marked his seventh appearance of the season.
The three-time All-Star showed no signs of rust Monday, contributing 10 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, and zero turnovers on 5-of-5 shooting from the field in 18 minutes. However, he appeared to deal with a sore knee late in the contest.
Simmons' lengthy injury history includes a knee issue that held him out for the latter part of last season with the Nets.
The 19-28 Nets are 4-3 with Simmons in the lineup this season.
