Report: T-Wolves acquire Monte Morris from Pistons
The Minnesota Timberwolves are trading for point guard Monte Morris, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania on Wednesday.
Minnesota is sending Shake Milton, Troy Brown Jr., and a second-rounder to the Detroit Pistons in the deal, adds Charania.
Morris has been limited to six games this season due to a quad injury. He was dealt to Detroit in the summer after spending the year prior with the Washington Wizards. He played his first five campaigns with the Denver Nuggets.
Before this year, Morris had started in 135 of his 137 appearances across his last two seasons. He developed into one of the more cerebral and efficient point guards in the Association after being selected with the No. 51 pick in 2017.
Morris has averaged 10.4 points and 4.0 assists per game while nailing 39% of his threes over his career.
The 28-year-old will slot in as Minnesota's backup point guard behind veteran Mike Conley as the upstart T-Wolves fight for the West's No. 1 seed.
