Cavaliers and Bucks want to put season-ticket holders names on floor

Season-tickets are the life blood of sports franchises. While the margins may be smaller, the guaranteed revenue and reliable attendance numbers are of grave importance to the business model for many teams.

That's why teams often go all out to woo potential season seat buyers. From offering courtside seats to player meet-and-greets to the first chance to purchase playoff tickets, teams do what they can to attract and retain these customers.

The Cleveland Cavalier and Milwaukee Bucks are looking to do a little more, though: both teams have requested approval from the league to put the names of their season-ticket holders right on the arena floor.

According to a report from Sports Business Daily, the names would be placed on the apron surrounding the playing floor or possibly even the floor itself. It's a drastic move and potentially a game-changer for teams league-wide, if that's something that ends up being an enticing benefit to customers.

It could also serve as another step toward the "no unused space" style of marketing found in some European sports leagues where no piece of jersey, court or ice surface is without advertising.
