Report: Gilgeous-Alexander set to receive signature shoe deal
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander could have a signature shoe deal waiting for him when his current sneaker contract comes to an end.
Gilgeous-Alexander's deal with Converse is set to expire in September, and he's the next NBA star in line to receive a signature shoe deal, The Athletic's Shams Charania reported Wednesday on FanDuel's "Run It Back."
The 25-year-old inked a multi-year partnership with Converse in July 2020 after previously being signed to Nike, Converse's parent company.
Several companies are already showing interest in signing Gilgeous-Alexander and are expected to hold discussions with him once he becomes a sneaker free agent, according to Charania.
Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 30.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.1 steals per game this season, his fifth with the Thunder.
