76ers' Oubre throws shade at Knicks' celebrity row
Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. took aim at the New York Knicks' celebrity fan base ahead of Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Saturday night at Madison Square Garden.
"The fans are pretty crazy," Oubre said, according to PHLY Sports. "They have a really good culture of being wild and loving basketball to the root and the core of it. They call it the Mecca of basketball for a reason. The lights are super bright.
"They're gonna give celebrities those $100,000 free tickets just to be there and not care about the game, but that's what they do. It's gonna be super fun, and I look forward to it. It's one of my favorite places to play."
Oubre's comments prompted a response from actors Ben Stiller and Jerry Ferrara.
The Knicks and Sixers faced each other four times during the regular season, with New York winning the head-to-head matchup 3-1.
