"I don't think I'm just a prototypical big man," Nerlens Noel told SLAM on Friday, and Reebok is betting on that being true.
The number six overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft has signed a shoe endorsement deal with Reebok Basketball. The brand is working on rebooting it's image around an expanded NBA roster and new product offerings in the coming years.
Nike is the market leader by a large margin, with a global athletic footwear market share of roughly 20 percent. Adidas Group, which includes Reebok, has the second largest share but its 2012 footwear sales were just 67 percent of Nike's globally.
Noel is well known for his large flat-top haircut and should be in a high-profile situation with a young and exciting New Orleans Pelicans team in 2013-14.
