The already depleted New York Knicks were without forward OG Anunoby for the entire fourth quarter of their 130-121 Game 2 win over the Indiana Pacers Wednesday.
Anunoby left the contest at the 3:27 mark of the third quarter with the Knicks up 90-81. Immediately after his exit, Indiana went on a 10-4 run to cut New York's lead to three. However, Tom Thibodeau's squad responded by keeping the Pacers scoreless for the final 1:30 to carry a 99-91 lead into the fourth quarter.
Prior to leaving, Anunoby shot 10-of-19 from the floor (4-of-7 from deep) for 28 points in 28 minutes.
The Knicks are already without three-time All-Star forward Julius Randle and have likely lost center Mitchell Robinson for the rest of the season. Starting point guard Jalen Brunson also temporarily checked out of Wednesday's contest with a foot injury that kept him in the locker room for the entire second quarter, but the 27-year-old returned after halftime.
A versatile defensive specialist, the 6-foot-7 Anunoby was New York's most frequent assignment on Pacers forward Pascal Siakam in Game 1, guarding his former Toronto Raptors teammate for 10:17 and limiting him to 10 points in their matchups, per NBA Advanced Stats.
Anunoby averaged 14.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.1 blocks in New York's first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. He had 13 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals while shooting 3-of-7 from distance in the Knicks' series-opening win Monday against Indiana.
