The New York Knicks will bring back OG Anunoby on a five-year deal worth $212.5 million, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Anunoby's new deal will reportedly contain a player option as well as a trade kicker.

The 26-year-old averaged 14.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and a combined 2.7 blocks and steals per game in 23 appearances for New York last campaign following a midseason trade from the Toronto Raptors.

He was pivotal in the team's run to the second round of the playoffs, registering 16.4 points and 6.8 boards per game while shooting 39.5% from distance through the first eight contests until a hamstring issue sidelined him for Games 3-6 against the Indiana Pacers. He returned for Game 7 but was still hobbled by the injury and played less than five minutes in the loss.

Anunoby was set to become a free agent after turning down a $19.9-million player option for 2024-25. He'd have become eligible to negotiate with all 29 other teams if he and the Knicks failed to strike a new deal before June 30.

The Indiana product would have had max offers on the table from other clubs if New York was unable to re-sign him within the exclusive negotiating window, sources told SNY's Ian Begley. However, Anunoby reportedly agreed with the front office's future plans. He also would have been limited to four-year offers elsewhere due to the CBA.

New York's apparent agreement with Anunoby comes less than 24 hours after the franchise reportedly sent five first-round picks to the Brooklyn Nets for wing Mikal Bridges. The 27-year-old will likely join Anunoby in the Knicks' 2024-25 starting lineup alongside All-Star point guard Jalen Brunson, who won two national championships with Bridges at Villanova. Fellow former Wildcats Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo are also slated to re-assume significant roles in the team's rotation next season.
