The Washington Wizards are trading forward Deni Avdija to the Portland Trail Blazers for guard Malcolm Brogdon and the 14th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, as well as a 2029 selection, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Washington used the additional first-round selection to draft Pittsburgh guard Bub Carrington at the end of the lottery.

The Blazers are trading the second-most favorable of their 2029 picks, along with two second-round selections, according to Wojnarowski. Portland's second-round picks are in 2028 and 2030, according to The Athletic's Josh Robbins.

Avdija finished sixth in Most Improved Player voting this past season. The former lottery pick averaged 14.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists last season for the Wizards. He signed a four-year, $55-million contract last offseason.

Washington finished 14th in the Eastern Conference with a 15-67 record and will pick No. 2 and 26 in the first round of the draft.

Brogdon played 39 games for the Blazers last season, averaging 15.7 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.8 rebounds. The former Sixth Man of the Year winner missed the final 33 contests due to an elbow injury.
