The Canadians weren't able to include their entire NBA contingent, however. Memphis Grizzlies rookie Zach Edey, who was invited to Canada's training camp before the draft, withdrew from consideration to focus on his debut professional season. The Golden State Warriors also refused to allow experienced wing Andrew Wiggins to participate in the camp due to medical concerns, according to Sportsnet's Michael Grange.
The Canadians, coached by Brooklyn Nets bench boss Jordi Fernandez, take on the United States in an exhibition contest Wednesday in Las Vegas. They'll then play Greece in each country's Group A opener at the Olympics on July 27. It will be Canada's first appearance in the men's Olympic basketball tournament since the 2000 Games in Sydney.
