Magic roasts Ant again for eras remark: 'Talk trash when you've won'

Magic Johnson isn't letting Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards forget his claim that Michael Jordan was the only NBA player from previous eras who had skill.

Johnson defended his generation Thursday during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," saying they had "some of the most dominant players" to have ever played in the NBA.

"You might wanna talk trash when you've won something," the Hall of Famer said when asked about Edwards' remark. "If this came from some of the guys who just won on the Celtic team, OK, you might wanna look at it. But you haven't won anything.

"If I'm Anthony Edwards, I'm concerned about the Dallas Mavericks, about OKC, about Boston, about all these great teams in the West. ... Concentrate, because you got beat by the Mavericks, you didn't make it to the championship. I'm concentrating on that instead of what happened in a time you wasn't born."

Johnson issued a similar response to Edwards in an interview with ESPN's Stephen A. Smith in August, declaring he doesn't "respond to a guy who's never won a championship."

While Edwards has yet to win an NBA title, the 23-year-old was part of the United States men's basketball team that took home the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
