Memphis Grizzlies guard Vince Williams Jr. suffered a stress reaction in his left tibia and will be re-evaluated in four weeks, the team announced Friday.

The 6-foot-4 VCU product is entering his third season in the NBA, all of which have been with Memphis. After playing sparingly in his freshman year, Williams stepped into an expanded role last season with the Grizzlies decimated by injuries. He took advantage: Across 52 appearances, Williams averaged 10 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists while shooting 37.8% from three.

Memphis at one point had 13 players on its injury list in 2023-24. Key players Desmond Bane, Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, Brandon Clarke, and Jaren Jackson Jr. all missed extended time.

The Grizzlies are already without GG Jackson, who's set to miss the beginning of the season after undergoing foot surgery.

Memphis opens its regular season Oct. 23 on the road against the Utah Jazz.
