LeBron 'living in the moment' entering 22nd season

LeBron James isn't thinking about the future as he prepares for his 22nd season in the NBA and first playing alongside son Bronny James.

"Have not thought about what the future holds, kind of just living in the moment," the Los Angeles Lakers star said Monday at media day. "Especially with Bronny being here too, I don't wanna take his moment for granted. I've always kind of never gave myself an opportunity to kind of just like, I guess, take in the moments."

LeBron signed a two-year, $104-million max contract to return to the Lakers in July after the team drafted Bronny with the 55th overall pick in the second round. The two are set to make history this season as the first father-son duo to play in the NBA simultaneously and on the same team.

While LeBron is focused on living in the moment, he said he realized he still has a lot left in the tank while playing with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer.

"For myself individually, to go out there at my age, the miles that I have, and to be able to play at the level I played at, it gave me even more a sense of, 'OK, I do have a lot in the tank.' A lot," he said. "And I can help a big part of a team win the ultimate, whatever, if it's gold or if it's the Larry O'Brien Trophy or whatever the case may be. I can still get it done."

The Lakers will open preseason Friday at home against the Memphis Grizzlies.
