San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama believes the sky's the limit.
In an interview with Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, Wembanyama spoke about his untapped potential and said he's aiming to break new ground in the NBA.
"I think my physical potential, I don't know where it can lead me," he said. "I'm sure it's not complete at all. I want to work so that I have the chance one day to invent new things."
Wembanyama, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft, averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.6 blocks per game last season en route to taking home Rookie of the Year honors. He went on to suit up for France at the Paris Olympics and won a silver medal.
The 20-year-old told Mannix that last season "felt like a dream, like walking in the shadows," but things are "much different" entering his second year.
"I still don't know what I'm doing, but at least I got my habits," he said.
The Spurs will close out their preseason schedule Thursday on the road against the Houston Rockets.
