Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban thinks it's time for LeBron James to hang up his sneakers.

Cuban jokingly called on James to retire while chatting with TMZ Sports, noting that the 39-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star is still a huge threat to his Mavs.

"Yes, LeBron. It's time for you to quit," Cuban said. "I'm tired of you ... only 'cause he's still so good. He's on the Lakers, they're our rivals. So, it's time to retire, LeBron."

The Mavs went 2-1 against the Lakers last season, with James scoring at least 25 points in all three matchups. The two teams will face each other for the first time this season on Jan. 7.

James signed a two-year, $104-million max deal in July to return to the Lakers and join eldest son Bronny as the first father-son duo to play together on an NBA team.
