Warriors sign Moody to 3-year, $39M rookie extension
Golden State Warriors wing Moses Moody agreed to a three-year, $39-million rookie extension, his representation told ESPN's Shams Charania and Kendra Andrews.
Moody is in the last year of his rookie deal after being drafted out of Arkansas with the 14th pick in 2021.
The 22-year-old averaged 8.1 points and three rebounds in 66 games last season. Moody played well this preseason, putting up 15.5 points in 20 minutes per game, shooting 45.6% from the field and 39.4% from three.
Moody becomes the fifth player from the 2021 draft class to be extended, joining Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley, Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes, and Orlando Magic wing Franz Wagner.
Teammate Jonathan Kuminga is also eligible for a rookie extension with the deadline on Monday.
Golden State will kick off its season Wednesday on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers.
