Ja Morant week-to-week with hip, pelvis injuries
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant is considered week-to-week after suffering a posterior hip subluxation without dislocation and multiple Grade 1 pelvic muscle strains, the team announced Saturday.
Morant sustained the injury in Wednesday's contest versus the Los Angeles Lakers when he tried to catch a lob and was destabilized midair. He posted 20 points before exiting the game.
The former No. 2 pick is averaging 20.6 points, 9.1 assists, and five rebounds this season.
Morant played nine games last campaign before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in January. He was unavailable to play the campaign's first 25 contests due to a suspension for off-court activity.
Memphis ranks first in games missed because of injury for the second straight season, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks. The team is without Desmond Bane and Marcus Smart due to their respective ankle and oblique injuries.
The Grizzlies are 6-4 this season, ranking sixth in the Western Conference.
