Dwight Howard thinks he could help the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The veteran big man made his case to join the Thunder during an appearance on the "KG Certified" podcast with Kevin Garnett, noting he has plenty of free time after his elimination from "Dancing With the Stars" on Tuesday.

"OKC, your boy is ready," Howard said. "What's happening? Y'all need a big. ... Y'all need a vet. Y'all need somebody that's gonna bring some energy. I ain't got nothing to do neither. I just got finished dancing.

"Me and AC together, Alex Caruso, championship. I'm just saying, we done did it before. We done did it before. Y'all already got a superstar. Y'all just need somebody who know how to play defense - that's certified."

The Thunder are currently without star center Chet Holmgren, who suffered a pelvic fracture during Oklahoma City's 127-116 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday and won't be evaluated for another 8-10 weeks. Fellow big men Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams are also sidelined with injuries.

Howard, 38, last played in the NBA in 2021-22 for the Los Angeles Lakers, with whom he won a championship in 2020. He then spent the 2022-23 season with the Taoyuan Leopards of the T1 League in Taiwan.
