Report: Pistons waiving Paul Reed
The Detroit Pistons are waiving center Paul Reed, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Reed played 12 games with the franchise, averaging 4.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 10 minutes of action. The Pistons claimed him off waivers after the Philadelphia 76ers released him in July.
Detroit made the move for more roster and salary flexibility with the trade deadline coming up in less than two months, according to Charania. The Pistons now fall under the salary floor and will need to reach it by Sunday, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.
Reed holds career averages of 5.1 points and 4.1 rebounds, largely playing as a reserve center. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Sixers.
The Pistons look better this campaign compared to their 14-68 finish last season, going 10-16 over the first portion of the season. They take on the Miami Heat on Monday.
