Knicks sign Landry Shamet
The New York Knicks have agreed to a deal with veteran guard Landry Shamet after he recovered from a preseason shoulder injury.
Shamet signed with the Knicks on an Exhibit 9 training camp deal before this season but suffered a separated shoulder in a preseason contest. New York waived the 27-year-old as a result of the injury but made it clear the team intended to bring him back once he healed.
The Knicks maintained Shamet's rights while he recovered by selecting him in the G League draft.
The Knicks waived forward Matt Ryan in a corresponding move.
The Wichita State product joins his fifth NBA team and holds career averages of 8.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists on 38.4% shooting from three.
New York currently sits third in the Eastern Conference at 18-10. Shamet can potentially make his Knicks debut Monday against the Toronto Raptors.
