Giannis, Jokic lead 1st All-Star fan voting results
Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic are the leading vote-getters from each conference in the NBA's first All-Star fan voting returns of the season, released Thursday.
Antetokounmpo is trailed by Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum, and Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant is close behind Jokic.
Oklahoma City guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who's averaging 31.3 points for the 27-5 Thunder, has accumulated a little more than 1 million votes. He's the only guard in the NBA to surpass that mark. Charlotte Hornets floor general LaMelo Ball leads all East guards.
Fan voting returns will be released every Thursday prior to the Jan. 20 cutoff. Supporters will make up 50% of the final vote, with the remaining 50% split between current players and a media panel.
The starters for this year's All-Star Game will be revealed Jan. 23 and the reserves, chosen by NBA head coaches, will be announced Jan. 30.
This year's game will look a lot different. The league is trying out a four-team mini-tournament, splitting the 24 All-Stars into three teams and including the winner of the Rising Stars Challenge.
San Francisco's Chase Center hosts the 2025 NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 16.
