The NBA postponed Thursday's contest between the Charlotte Hornets and Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena due to wildfires in the Los Angeles area.

The league will reschedule the game at a later date.

Lakers coach JJ Redick's family was among those who evacuated the area because of the fires.

Wednesday's NHL contest between the Calgary Flames and the Los Angeles Kings was also postponed. The Lakers and Kings share Crypto.com Arena.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard reportedly missed Wednesday's loss to the Denver Nuggets to help family members escape the wildfires.

The wind-driven wildfires have killed five people and forced over 180,000 people to evacuate since starting Tuesday, according to The Associated Press.
