Butler: I love Miami 'with everything that I have'
Jimmy Butler still has love for Miami despite his recent drama with the Heat.
Although he's reportedly requested a trade out of Miami, the disgruntled forward expressed his gratitude to the city while participating in the Padel Reserve Cup Series 2025 tournament Saturday.
"I love this city with everything that I have," Butler said, via Will Munro of WPLG Local 10 News. "I'm so glad that I get to be around so many incredible people, friends and family that are here. This city deserves everything."
Butler was suspended for the Heat's last two games for a "continued pattern of disregard of team rules, insubordinate conduct, and conduct detrimental to the team" after missing the team's flight to Milwaukee on Wednesday. He was previously suspended seven games by the Heat for similar reasons.
The 35-year-old has spent the past six seasons with Miami after arriving via a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers.
