Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson will miss the rest of the season due to a torn labrum in his left shoulder, the team announced Wednesday.

Johnson will undergo surgery next week and is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2025-26 season. He suffered the injury in Thursday's loss to the Toronto Raptors, leaving the game after dislocating his left shoulder.

The 23-year-old had been enjoying a breakout fourth NBA season, averaging 18.9 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists on 50% shooting. He has also been elite defensively, with 1.6 steals and a block per game.

Johnson missed five games earlier in January with an injury to his right shoulder. The Hawks have gone 4-7 without Johnson in the lineup this season.

The Duke product ranks third in scoring on Atlanta behind star Trae Young and Sixth Man of the Year candidate De'Andre Hunter.

The Hawks are in the midst of a six-game losing streak and sit ninth in the East at 22-25. They next play Thursday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
