Pistons' Stewart suspended 1 game for 6th flagrant

Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart has been suspended one game without pay for accruing his sixth flagrant foul of the season, the league announced Friday.

Stewart entered Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers with four flagrant fouls. However, he received a flagrant 2 and was ejected during the second quarter for shoving Pacers big man Thomas Bryant to the floor.

Stewart is also being fined $50,000 for "making inappropriate and objectionable gestures" as he appeared to mimic pointing a gun toward Indiana's bench following his ejection.

In addition, Stewart reportedly gave the Pacers' crowd the middle finger as he exited the floor, according to Scott Agness of the Fieldhouse Files.

The Washington product has been punished by the league in the past. Stewart received a three-game ban and was arrested for assault after he allegedly punched then-Phoenix Suns forward Drew Eubanks before a game last season. He was issued a citation by Phoenix police, but the assault charge was eventually dismissed.

Stewart was also suspended one game in 2021 for an on-court altercation with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.

Stewart will serve his suspension Friday when the Pistons take on the Dallas Mavericks.
