Report: Wizards trade Valanciunas to Kings
The Washington Wizards are trading center Jonas Valanciunas to the Sacramento Kings for wing Sidy Cissoko and two second-round picks, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Sacramento is sending Washington the Denver Nuggets' selection in 2028 and its own second-round pick in 2029, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks. The Kings received Cissoko and the Nuggets' pick in the De'Aaron Fox three-team trade.
Valanciunas is averaging 11.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists this season. He signed a three-year, $30.3-million deal last offseason.
The 32-year-old will reunite with fellow Lithuanian Domantas Sabonis after winning a silver medal together at EuroBasket in 2015. Valanciunas will also suit up with former Toronto Raptors teammate DeMar DeRozan; the two played six seasons together north of the border.
Valanciunas holds career averages of 13.3 points and 9.4 rebounds.
The Spurs drafted Cissoko in the second round in 2023. The-20-year-old has averaged 2.3 points and 1.1 rebounds in limited minutes across two seasons.
