Veteran center Alex Len is signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, his representation told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Len intended to sign with the Indiana Pacers but chose the Lakers after the team rescinded the Mark Williams trade with the Charlotte Hornets, Charania adds.

Los Angeles is waiving Christian Wood to sign Len, sources told Charania. Wood has yet to play this season due to a knee injury. The 29-year-old averaged 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds last season for the Lakers.

Len has appeared in 36 games for the Sacramento Kings this campaign, averaging 1.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 7.2 minutes of action. The Kings sent Len to the Washington Wizards as part of a three-team trade that included the Memphis Grizzlies last week. The Wizards subsequently waived the 31-year-old.

The Ukrainian center holds career averages of 6.7 points and 5.3 rebounds over 12 NBA seasons.

Los Angeles has been seeking another center after parting ways with Anthony Davis to acquire Luka Doncic.
