Hawks' Krejci, Nance to miss time
Atlanta Hawks guard Vit Krejci and forward Larry Nance Jr. will miss significant time after both suffered injuries in Monday's victory over the Orlando Magic, the team announced Wednesday.
Testing confirmed that Krejci suffered a non-displaced lumbar fracture in his back, and the 24-year-old is expected to be re-evaluated in three-to-four weeks.
Nance exited Monday's contest with a right knee injury, and further evaluation revealed a non-displaced fracture of his medial femoral condyle. The 32-year-old will be re-evaluated in about six weeks.
Krejci has played in 39 games for the Hawks this season, starting 15 of them. He's averaging a career-high 6.9 points and 2.7 assists while playing 20.8 minutes per contest.
Nance is averaging 8.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 24 games in 2024-25. This is his second major injury of the season, as he missed most of January after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured metacarpal bone in his right hand.
The Hawks are already without forward Jalen Johnson for the rest of the campaign due to a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
Atlanta has won four of its last five games and sits eighth in the East at 26-28. The club returns to action Wednesday against the New York Knicks.
