Kings agree to deal with Fultz
The Sacramento Kings are signing free-agent point guard Markelle Fultz, his agent told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Fultz hasn't played this season after his contract with the Orlando Magic expired at the end of the 2023-24 campaign. He averaged 7.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and one steal for Orlando last season, starting in 18 of his 43 appearances.
The former No. 1 pick shores up the Kings' depth at the point, which was diminished by the three-team trade that sent De'Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs. In six games since parting with Fox, Sacramento has deployed Malik Monk as its primary ball-handler. The 27-year-old Monk has traditionally operated in an off-ball role throughout his eight-year career, though, including 14 starts alongside Fox this season.
