KD: I expect to be at 2028 Olympics if I'm still playing at high level
Kevin Durant hasn't ruled out another Olympic run with the United States men's national basketball team.
The Phoenix Suns star discussed the possibility of competing at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics on the latest episode of "The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis," saying he expects it to happen as long as he's still at the top of his game.
"There's a chance," Durant said. "My thing's always been, it's like, I wanna still be on this level that I'm playing at when that time comes around ... don't give me that OG, 'Man, just come be one of the guys' and 'We need your presence' type. Nah, I wanna hoop if I go out and I wanna be counted on to play minutes. And you need me to knock down shots to help the team-type shit. I don't want that farewell shit, you can give that spot to a youngster that hasn't experienced it.
"If I'm up to that level and I'm still hooping at that level, then I expect myself to be there, yeah. I would definitely love to be a part of that, especially being in L.A., being on the home soil."
Durant is a four-time Olympic gold medalist and ranks as Team USA's all-time leading scorer in the tournament with 518 total points. He'll be nearly 40 years old when the 2028 Games get underway.
