Magic's Suggs out indefinitely with knee injury

Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs will be out indefinitely with a trochlea injury in his left knee, the team announced Friday.

Suggs has been sidelined since late January with a quadriceps injury and began experiencing knee discomfort in his return to play activities. An MRI revealed the injury, and he will remain out while a treatment plan is developed.

The 23-year-old, known for his defensive capabilities, was enjoying his best offensive season in the NBA. He's averaging a career-high 16.2 points across 35 games to go along with four rebounds and 3.7 assists. Suggs is also swiping a personal-best 1.5 steals per game.

Suggs missed 10 games in early January with a back issue and suffered his quadriceps injury in his return from the back ailment.

The Magic sit seventh in the East at 29-32.
