Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III is out four-to-six weeks after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure to address inflammation in his knee, the team announced Thursday.
Williams' timeline likely sidelines him for the rest of the season. He's expected to make a full recovery.
The 27-year-old has missed the Blazers' last 12 games. In 20 contests, he averaged 5.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, and 1.1 assists.
Since his All-Defensive second-team selection in 2022 as a member of the Boston Celtics, Williams has only played in 61 games over three seasons.
Portland acquired Williams from the Celtics in the Jrue Holiday trade in 2023.
The Blazers rank 12th in the Western Conference with a 31-39 record.
