Golden State Warriors wing Gary Payton II sustained a torn ligament in his thumb and will be out for at least one week, the team announced Thursday.
Payton is averaging 6.6 points and three rebounds in 58 games - including 11 starts - for the Warriors this season.
The 32-year-old has suited up for 190 contests over five seasons with Golden State, averaging 6.2 points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal. He's in the final season of a three-year, $26-million contract signed in 2022.
The Warriors rank seventh in the Western Conference with a 41-31 record. They face the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday.
