Carmelo Anthony has 'big black book' for recruiting players to New York
Despite all the talk of Carmelo Anthony wanting to become a free agent next summer, the six-time All-Star has announced that his plans at the end of the season involve attracting some of the NBA's top talent to New York.
Anthony was asked after practice on Tuesday whether he's the type of guy who could woo players to join his franchise, and his response will certainly provide Knicks fans with some optimism that he doesn't want to leave his current team.
"I haven't had a complaint in 10, 11 years in the NBA about playing with me," Anthony told NY Post. "People would love to come to play in New York. When that comes, we'll be working on that. I have a big black book, a big Rolodex. People talk about what's going on with me in the offseason, [that] I should be getting people to come here. I am. I'm trying."
Anthony and the Knicks open their season against the Bucks on Wednesday night.
