That link goes to Delfino's official site, which has the following quote translated from Spanish:
"The reality is that the fracture was found in August marked a setback in recovery. Still there and I have to go to a theater again to try to resolve the situation."
Delfino was signed to a three-year, $9.75 million contract this offseason, even though he was still recovering from a broken foot. It appears, from the note, that additional setbacks have made a return this season unfeasible.
