The Detroit Pistons are 8.5-point home favorites on theScore Bet as they prepare for Game 7 against the Orlando Magic, who are looking to become the seventh 8-seed in NBA history to knock off a 1-seed.
The Pistons trailed by 22 at halftime of Game 6 before mounting a comeback to force a Sunday series finale. Orlando, which has been without Franz Wagner for the last two games, scored 19 points in the second half of Game 6 and missed 23 consecutive field goals. The Pistons took advantage of the Magic's historically cold shooting, embarking on a 35-5 run that helped them stave off elimination.
While poor offense and cold shooting have defined this series, Wagner's absence has changed the complexion of the Magic on both ends. It's easy to see why the Pistons, who were significant favorites entering the series, are heavy favorites in Game 7.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are 7.5-point home favorites over the Toronto Raptors in Sunday's other Game 7. Few prognosticators expected Toronto to compete with Cleveland, but the Raptors have done well to limit Cleveland's backcourt since Game 3. The Raptors trailed by one in overtime of Game 6 before RJ Barrett's 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining took an improbable bounce off the rim and fell through the hoop, forcing one last game.
Cleveland was heavily favored entering the series and is the more talented team on paper, but Toronto could be poised to pull off the upset if Scottie Barnes, Barrett, and a hard-nosed supporting cast continue their level of play.
