Golden State Warriors center Kristaps Porzingis is seriously contemplating his future in the NBA amid lingering symptoms from postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), sources told Shams Charania of ESPN.

The Warriors are reportedly exploring trade options for the 7-foot-2 veteran. Porzingis signed a two-year, $40-million deal this summer to remain with the club, though only $3 million is guaranteed for next season, according to Spotrac.

Golden State confirmed Wednesday in a statement that Porzingis isn't expected to be around the team "in the immediate future," and that any conversations between the organization and his camp will remain private.

The 31-year-old revealed in October 2025 that he had been diagnosed with POTS after experiencing repeated issues with fatigue and high heart rates while standing at rest, both common symptoms of the autonomic disorder.

Porzingis didn't participate in training camp and missed all six of Golden State's preseason matchups as he consulted with doctors about his health. The Latvian remains out indefinitely, with the Warriors set to open their season Wednesday on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers.

"It has definitely been frustrating dealing with some health stuff that you can't exactly pinpoint, on top of injuries throughout my career, so it has added up for sure, but we will get through it," he said in a statement last week. "Health is wealth. Thank you for all the support."

Porzingis averaged 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 32 games between the Atlanta Hawks and Warriors last season - his 10th in the NBA.
