Report: Ex-NBA player Javaris Crittenton planned to move 900 pounds of cocaine

Former first-rounder Javaris Crittenton was indicted last Wednesday on drug charges in Atlanta in an operation that reportedly involved 14 people.

The news gatherers at TMZ obtained several legal documents that cite the former NBA player was hoping to move 400 kilograms of cocaine with a drug ring that has been operating since 2012.

Crittenton was scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 16, but waived his first appearance. His next date is Feb. 14.

“He will remain in the Fulton County Jail,” Fulton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “No bond.”

From the Journal-Constitution:

Crittenton, who was supposed to be on a 12-hour curfew while on bond awaiting a murder trial, is “accused of selling multi-kilo quantities of cocaine and several hundred pounds of marijuana during the seven month investigation dating back to June 2012."

In other news, 400 kilograms is just shy of 900 POUNDS, or the average weight of a small cow.
