Rockets' Parsons on Team USA exclusion: 'It's a joke'
When USA Basketball revealed the pool of 28 players they would select from for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics, one of the names that stuck out as an omission was Chandler Parsons.
While he wasn't the most egregious (hello, John Wall), his absence was surprising given that he had already spent time with the program's development camp. In addition, Parsons has a great outside game and can facilitate from the wing, skills that play up in international competition.
The next morning, Parsons sent USA Basketball a not-so-subtle message:
Thanks for the motivation.

On Friday night, he sent the program an even less subtle message by hitting 10 straight 3-point shots, setting the NBA record for threes in a half.
After the game, Parsons referred to his exclusion as "a joke," and quipped that he'd hit 10 threes a half from now on to prove a point.
