Austin Daye participated fully in practice Monday but won't play in a game for some time, the San Antonio Express-News reports. Afterward, coach Gregg Popovich stated, "He's not going to understand the system, but a lot of that depends on how quickly he picks things up. I haven't been around him long enough to know what his capabilities are. But he worked hard today. We threw him in the frying pan and we'll just see how it goes."

Analysis:
Despite the lack of imminent appearances, Daye mentioned that his true specs are a bit off his listed 6-11, 200. Currently, he weighs in at a robust 218, which makes some run at the four possible as he grows more accustomed to the Spurs' system. On the other hand, a number of injuries will have to take place, before Popovich is apt to consider him a viable in-game possibility.
