GIF: Dirk hits buzzer-beater, kills Knicks and Knicks Twitter

The New York Knicks battled hard against the Dallas Mavericks late in the fourth quarter on Monday night.

Trailing by six with 1:21 to go, the Knicks fought back to tie the game with 50 seconds left on a Carmelo Anthony three. But after J.R. Smith missed a long two, forcing a shot clock violation with 10 seconds left, the Mavericks had the final possession.

108-108, one play to go.

And then...

Mavericks win, 110-108, and can we PLEASE get 'Melo some help?

Anthony was ridiculous once again on Monday, scoring 44 points on 14-of-29 shooting with nine rebounds and four assists. The Knicks have lost three straight games, during which Anthony has scored 123 points on just 82 shots, good for a 66.8 true shooting percentage. He's been insane. Three losses, though.

Not only that, but he guarded Nowitzki on that final play about as well as you could ask. The guy has been doing everything, but here the Knicks are, 21-36, six games back of the final playoff spot in the East. If he doesn't walk this summer as a free agent, we'll truly know that C.R.E.A.M.
